But only 17 years later, in 1962, that it has been officially defined by decree. The wines of Alsace and entered into the great family of French wines to AOC.
Production conditions
The annual yield per hectare in 2007 authorized the Alsace appellation was 80 hl / ha plus 2.5% PLC (Ceiling Limit Rank = reserve volume set annually by the INAO) for whites, and 75 hl / ha without PLC for Pinot Noir. This annual performance since 1999 comes with a performance target for each of the white varieties that replaces the old method of calculation of return "all varieties confounded," which was historically practiced in Alsace.
The current minimum levels are: 9 ° for the Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc and Edelzwicker, 9.5 ° for Riesling and Muscat, 10 ° to 11 ° and Black Pinot for Pinot gray, Gewurztraminer and Klevener Heiligenstein.
